Meet the Authors
Stephen W. Smith
Stephen W. Smith is the Founder of Potter's Inn, a Christian ministry devoted to the work of spiritual formation and the care of the soul. Stephen has pastored and planted churches in the United States and Europe and was educated at Lenoir Rhyne College, NC, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, KY, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, IL.
Steve is the author of The Lazarus Life, Soul Custody, Inside Job, (to name a few) and co-author of several small group guides.
Steve has been married since 1980 to Gwen and they have four adult sons and four daughters-in-law, plus a growing tribe of grandchildren!
A long walk and a strong cup of coffee make it all worth it!
Peter M. Ivey
Peter M. Ivey is the North Carolina Director for Thrive Adventures, a Christian outdoor ministry that uses adventures and retreats as a means to encourage deeper intimacy with others and with Christ. Peter’s passion is helping to create space for others to become in-tune with the whispers of God. He earned a Master’s in Leadership from Denver Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Furman University.
He and his wife, Becca, are originally from Charlotte, NC and now live in Asheville, NC with their three beautiful children.
On any given day, you’ll find Peter trail running on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail, cycling on the Blue Ridge Parkway, or perusing used books at Bagatelle Books.
